What We Do for Businesses
Rekeying after staff or tenant changes
When someone leaves and you're not sure they handed back every key, rekeying fixes it. We change the inside of the lock so the old keys stop working, and you get new ones. If your locks are in good shape, it's usually cheaper than replacing them.
New locks and replacements
Commercial doors take a beating. If a lock is worn, damaged or not right for the door anymore, we'll replace it. The right hardware depends on the door, how much traffic it gets and what it needs to do, so tell us about the door, or send a photo.
Business and office lockouts
Can't get into your office or store? Call us with the address. We'll check that you're the owner, a manager or an employee who's allowed in, and then get you inside.
Broken key removal
A key snapped off in the lock? We'll get the piece out. If the cylinder is damaged, we'll tell you what it'll take to fix it and what it costs before doing anything else.
Master key systems
A master key system lets one key open several doors, while each staff member's key opens only their own. We can service an existing system: rekeying locks, adding or replacing a lock so it fits the system, and cutting keys for it. We don't design new systems from scratch. If you're setting one up, tell us what you have in place and we'll say what we can do.
Businesses We Work With
These are the kinds of businesses we help most often.
Shops and retail stores
Front doors, staff entrances and stockrooms all need to lock properly. When keys go missing or staff change, rekeying keeps things tight.
Restaurants and cafes
Customer doors, kitchen doors, back entrances, storage rooms. We help managers keep track of who can get in where.
Offices
Front entrances, private offices, file rooms. We handle regular mechanical locks and change who has keys when people come and go.
Landlords and commercial property managers
Between tenants, rekeying makes sure the last one can't get back in. We can work around contractors and staff access too.
Working Around Your Hours
Nobody wants a locksmith blocking the front door during the lunch rush. Tell us when it's convenient and which doors are involved, and we'll plan around it.
After closing
Yes. We can schedule work for after you close, so your customers and staff aren't disrupted. We work 7 AM to 10 PM, every day, so we can often come early in the morning or in the evening after you close, at the same price.
Planned lock changes
If you're rekeying or replacing several locks, let us know how many doors, what kind of locks, and when you need it done. That way we arrive with the right parts and finish faster.
Urgent lockouts
If you're locked out and losing business, call us. We'll tell you how soon we can be there and whether an emergency rate applies.
Salt Air and Storm Season
Near the coast, humid salt air is hard on metal. Keys stick, cylinders get stiff and finishes wear off. Check your outside locks now and then for rust or stiffness, and make sure everything is tight and working before storm season.
Keep in mind that a well-maintained lock is not storm protection. Doors and openings have their own building code and manufacturer requirements.
What Affects the Price
- How many doors. One lock costs less than a whole building.
- What kind of hardware. A standard commercial lock costs less than a high-security cylinder or specialty hardware.
- Rekey or replace. Rekeying uses your existing locks. Replacing means new hardware.
- When. Planned work during our hours (7 AM to 10 PM, every day) is priced as normal. Urgent calls may cost more, and we'll tell you before we head out.
- Where and what else. Travel, damaged cylinders or extra work can change the total. We'll tell you before doing anything outside the original job.
Ask us for an itemized quote that covers labor, parts, travel and timing.
What We Don't Do
Some business security jobs need a different kind of company. We don't currently handle:
- Electronic access control. Card readers, keypads and fob systems
- Security cameras and alarms
- Designing master key systems
If your job isn't something we handle, we'll tell you up front. For those jobs, we suggest asking a licensed security or electrical contractor.
Commercial Locksmith FAQs
Can you rekey our locks after an employee leaves?
Yes. Tell us which doors need doing and who's authorizing the work. If the locks are in good shape, rekeying is usually the fastest and cheapest fix.
Can you do the work after we close?
Yes. We can schedule work for after you close. We work 7 AM to 10 PM, every day, so we can often come early in the morning or in the evening after you close, at the same price. Tell us your hours and which doors are involved, and we'll find a time that works.
Should we rekey or replace our locks?
If the locks work well and you just need to change who has keys, rekey. If they're damaged, worn out, or you want something different, replace them. We'll look at them and give you an honest answer.
What do you need for a quote?
Your business address, how many doors, what kind of locks, what you need done, and when. Photos of the locks help a lot, so feel free to text them over.
